Message I'm currently working away at my '71 240Z's second restoration. I'm the second owner, had it for 25 years, currently at 360K Miles. First restoration was a rotisserie job in 1991 that took six months. I've got nothing but good memories with that car, more than a couple scary moments also. It's helped me enjoy life for half of my time on earth, driving and wrenching both.

As long as you have a solid chassis, go for it.

Pull the front sheetmetal, and engine/transmission.
Do the brakes/suspension/drivetrain.
Clean/Prep?Paint the engine compartment if that is part of the plan.
Engine/transmission repair/rebuild and re-install.
Strip the car for paint, do the body/paint. Hang the front sheetmetal.
Do the interior.
Re-assemble the trim

As Nissan used to say - Enjoy the ride.

I would have liked to have kept the first Z32 I bought in '94, a 90TT, but I was working overseas and it didn't make sense to have two cars in storage.
